El franc\u00e9s Gael Monfils<\/a>, con 40 a\u00f1os, jug\u00f3 su \u00faltimo partido en un Grand Slam.<\/strong> El galo ya hab\u00eda anunciado que 2026 ser\u00eda a\u00f1o final en el circuito y este jueves, tras perder ante el estadounidense Learnes Tien (6-3, 4-6 y 6-3)<\/strong> en la segunda ronda del US Open<\/a>, se despidi\u00f3 de las grandes citas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Fue un final muy emotivo. La tribuna en el Louis Amstrong empez\u00f3 a corear su nombre, hubo una plaqueta para \u00e9l<\/strong> y adem\u00e1s se exhibi\u00f3 un video con partidos que disput\u00f3 en el torneo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Monfils hab\u00eda disputado su primer partido en el cuadro principal del US Open en 2005, donde perdi\u00f3 en primera ronda ante Novak Djokovic en cinco sets. Su mejor ranking ATP fue el sexto puesto, en noviembre de 2016<\/strong>. Gan\u00f3 13 t\u00edtulos individuales de ATP 500 y ATP 250.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
